This is a 2-tier chocolate cake, with white chocolate icing on the bottom tier and milk chocoalte icing on the top tier. There is a cascade of milk and white chocolate roses running down the corner and a layer each of white and milk chocolate maltesers on the ledge and base of the cakes.

White Roses and Diamantes.JPG

This was a very romantic cake with a cascade of white sugar roses, each decorated with a diamante. On the top a romantic, rather than a comic, bride and groom. I made this for a wedding at Crondon Park in Essex earlier this year.

Bicycle Birthday Cake.JPG

Having several times made a motor bike birthday cake I thought I would expand my repertoire and make a cake with a cyclist on it. The cake represents a mountain the cyclist is about to climb. I thought the 50 mile an hour speed limit sign was quite witty?

Hannah was pleased:

"I would just like to say thank you for your wonderful cake that you made for my Dad's 50th, he thought is was lovely and everyone complimented on how fresh and tasty it was.

Kind Regards

Hannah Fenwick".

Primark Bag Cake.JPG

In complete contrast to my previous post where the bride and groom wanted Tiffany Boxes this couple wanted a wedding cake with a Primark Bag on it. It was an in-joke, as I believe the groom proposed to the bride in front of a Primark Store.

The cake was a 12" square fruit cake with a sugar modelled Primark bag with a fountain of silver confetti and tiny sugar silver confetti pieces sprinkled all over the cake.

Tiffany Boxes Wedding Cake.JPG

This bride and groom had a blue theme for their wedding at Ye Olde Plough House in Essex, and requested a stack of three Tiffany Boxes with a large sugar bow tying them together. They also had a sugar modelled bride and groom at the base. The bride had such a large train that I could not fit them on the top, so I offset the cakes on the board leaving a nice area to fit the models.

Jackie was very complimentary about her helterskelter cake:

"Good Morning Melanie

Just to thank you very much for our lovely cake, we received many comments.
A friend of ours works at a wedding venue so sees lots of cakes and she said ours
was the best she had ever seen.

Once again thank you very much.

Regards
Jackie"

Offset square stacked cake.jpg
www.ferriscakes.co.uk

This was a cake that I made in October for a wedding at Crondon Park in Essex. A very simple and elegant cake with 3 tiers of cake in a square shape but twisted round (or offset) to give it a modern feel. I continued this offset angle on the board, on the cake stand and on the cake table to follow the theme through. Two larger than life size hand made sugar roses were all the decoration it needed. Joanne sent me this note:

"Hi Melanie,

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for our wedding cake, It was absolutley beautiful. I've kept the fruit but the rest got cut up and went on the buffet table. Although unfortunatley I didn't even get time to try any of it but the guests tell me it was stunning.

Thanks so much for all your hard work.

Joanne"
