This really pretty elegant 3-tier cake covered in applique sugar flowers with a modelled sugar rose and satin bow sat on a pedestal stand, set among tea cups and matching cup cakes was for a wedding on Thursday at The Old Windmill in South Hanningfield. The cake had a chocolate orange base tier, and the other two tiers were red velvet. The cup cakes were vanilla sponge.

This double height, 2-tier Christening cake was a delightful challenge. The pattern on the bottom tier is stencilled directly onto the curved surface of the cake with royal icing. I then piped pearls of royal icing over certain points of the stencil and onto the top tier in a cross pattern. Leo was a treasure when he came to see his cake, a lovely, cheerful little boy.
