Naked Cakes are so popular this year. This one was 3 different flavours, vanilla sponge at the bottom, chocolate in the middle and red velvet on top. It was decorated with nude and ivory roses and herbs and had a bunting banner with Just Married H & D on top. It was for a celebration at Stock Brook Manor in Essex today.

I made 2 cakes with apple blossom in one weekend. This one was very much appreciated, for a golden wedding celebration at Mulberry House near Ongar in Essex. I had a lovely e-mail from my clients:

"Thank you for producing our 50th wedding anniversary cake and cup cakes. When we arrived at The Mulberry tree, the staff were keen to show us the cakes which looked stunning, even though the celebration cake had not then been put on its formal stand. When it was, it looked even better and we were extremely pleased with ourselves for selecting you as the creator.

Of course, looks are important but so is taste and the cakes did not disappoint! Both the fruit and sponge layers were spoken of highly by our guests. It seemed as though adults prefer the fruit and children the sponge.

My Grandaughter "road-tested" the cup cakes and pronounced them "fit for the road"!

All in all, we were very pleased with your baking. We have already given your to several enquirers and will have no hesitation in telling our friends, relations and acquaintances about your business."

Lorraine and Peter's wedding cake was a combination of fruit cake and lemon sponge, with a royal iced stencilled pattern round the sides, sugar ribbon and bow and a diamante heart on the bows. It was finished with a diamante version of their initials. The wedding was at Gosfield Hall last week.

This is one of the prettiest cakes I have ever made I think. It was for a wedding at Gosfield Hall in Essex last Friday. Inside there were 3 different flavours of cake - chocolate, fruit and, carrot cake, with the little top chocolate tier being for the bride and groom to take home and enjoy later. The ombre pink roses were chocolate and the sugar applique lace was made in a sugar mould.

This was for a mid-week, evening, wedding at Crabbs Barn in Kelvedon, Essex. Three tiers of cake, each four layers high, the middle tier was lemon and the others vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream. The roses and fruit were in various shades of pale orange and peach. I even have a new stand to display this fashionable type of cake, in the form of a cross section of tree trunk, which adds to the informal feel of this design. The bride and groom were very pleased.
