Another busy wedding cake week with 3 elaborate wedding cakes and a large birthday cake. This was such a pretty commission. The bride had wanted white maltesers, which I believe to have been discontinued, so I found something called vice versas and picked out the white ones and I think they looked as good. The wedding was at Mulberry House, and the bride obviously had an eye for design as the colour scheme was stunning.

This was the third cake I made last week. I loved them all. This was so elegant, with navy satin ribbon and bows, diamante butterflies. The tiers that have the diamantes embedded in the icing are dummy tiers, and to make up for this there were two extra cutting cakes. The whole room (at Three Rivers in Cold Norton) had a butterfly theme and looked gorgeous.

This cake was set up In a tepee wedding marquee in the middle of a field. The whole set up was amazing, with mini tepees all the way round for guests to sleep in, hay bales for sitting on, outdoor bars and lemonade stands, vintage crockery, bunting, and, as it was on Saturday, perfect weather. In fact the bride joked that she got the weather off ebay.

This is one of the 3 commissions I had this week. All of them very exciting.

Congratulations Mary

I am really enjoying making these pink chocolate roses with colour graduated petals. It went down well at the party:

Dear Melanie
Just to say your cake was fantastic - a great success at Mary’s party yesterday evening.
Many thanks.
Best regards
