This is my latest display cake, made with Crondon Park wedding fair in mind. The fair is next Saturday, 20th February, so do come along and see the venue set up for a wedding and meet the recommended suppliers. There is a vintage theme going on, so I made a cake with bunting, candy stripes, and little rolled roses (a bit Cath Kidson inspired). The sugar cup and saucer is so delicate, and I loved painting the pattern on it. The cake would be perfect for a summer wedding, or even a baby shower or christening.

After the Crondon Park Wedding Fair I will put the cake in my window for passersby to admire!

20160213-roses_and_drape_cake_with_bride_groom_and_german_shepherd.jpg

This was a cake I made last week for a couple who got married at Crondon Park. They had a very popular design with an ivory sugar drape, sugar rose sprays and at the bottom was a handmade sugar bride and groom dressed as the couple, with their German Shepherd. Increasingly a couple's favourite pet is being used as a ring bearer and are also depicted on the cake. Later on this year I have 2 wedding cakes to make with cats on them.

20160212-harlequin_cake.jpg

A delightful bride and groom sent me a photo of them cutting their wedding cake The cake was harlequin themed and the wedding was held at a really unusual venue, the chapel at Peckham Asylum. If you look at the tattoos on the groom's arm you can see harlequin jokers on playing cards. Plus he was dressed in the red and black colour scheme to match the cake. They found a picture of a similar cake on my website and asked me to make one in their colour scheme.

This was one of the prettiest wedding cakes I have made in a long time. The top tier, shaped like a traditional birdcage and iced in a delicate pink with handmade sugar flowers, was all carrot cake. Then there were 75 cup cakes in chocolate and vanilla with different designs on, from a swirl of vanilla buttercream, a pink sugar rose, the bride and groom's monogram, and miniature bird cakes with sugar hoop. All the cup cakes were encased in delicate lacy wrappers to give an extra pretty finish. The cake is shown here set up at Crondon Park Golf Club.
