This was a really sweet commission for a lady who wanted to give her daughter a baby shower party. Vanilla (gluten free), vanilla (gluten rich) and chocolate cup cakes with pastel coloured tops and tiny moulded and hand painted baby clothes, baby footprints, buttons and other baby paraphernalia. She was so pleased that she rang me when her husband brought them home to tell me they looked beautiful, and then e-mailed me later to say they tasted delicious too.

I made an almost life-size fender stratocaster cake a couple of years ago and last week I was asked to make an acoustic guitar cake in the same size.

This was a really sweet commission, with pink and white marbled sponge inside, a model pram on top and lots of girly decoration.

This was a lovely commission, and I thoroughly enjoyed making this little dog. He has a rice crispie and marshmallow base, covered in fondant with the fur piped with royal icing. It is quite a doggy week as I have also made a German Shepherd to go with a bride and groom model for a wedding cake next week.

20160116-inside_a_giant_snickers.jpg

Hannah wanted a Giant Snickers Bar as her 15th Birthday cake. She found a youtube site with instructions which we followed. This is NOT cake. It is a layer of peanut butter flavoured nougat, peanut and caramel, and milk chocolate all the way round. I haven't cropped the pictures as you can't get any idea of the scale if I do. It is 13" long, 4.5" wide and 2" high. Boiling the cream and sugar for the caramel, and the sugar and milk for the nougat destroyed my digital thermometer! It looks fabulous and tastes just like a Snickers/Marathon bar.
